I think that the best way to let your religion gain followers is by actually practicing it, or in your case, being a good Christian.
The only way people get converted is if they want it themselves. You can't push people into converting (as in relly converting, not just pretending). People who have strong beliefs in whatever they believe are unlikely to change their mind, no matter how often you tell them they're going to hell and no matter how often you quote the Bible. You only annoy them and give them feelings of persecution if you keep forcing your religion down their throats against their will.
But there are some people who aren't sure or are still searching for something. It's those people who might convert and the best way to attract them is by showing them the true colors of your religion. Practice what you preach and let them see the beauty in your religion. That is likely to inspire them to find out more and even convert eventually.
Christians who preach without practicing what they preach are hypocrites and it's people like that who push possible converts away and gain enemies among firm non-Christians. Why would anyone want to convert to a religion whose own followers don't even bother following as much as the main message of the religion?

Not hardly. This I will say there are plenty of people that "set a good example" and are good Christians.but Jesus said there is none good save God and the only way to "lead people to the Lord is if the Spirit draw them, that is done by God not us.
All this christian stuff sounds good oh so good, that preacher that has millions of followers sounded so good to,but what was in his heart? If he had been directed by the Lord then Gods word would not return to him void. How many people that believed in that man are now going to blame God and shun him?The true answer is ......acknowledge the Lord in all thy ways and he shall direct thy path.If someone is in that path along the way and the Holy Spirit is drawing them, they will see my light shining which is what Jesus said to do,then perhaps.

Yes, setting yourself as a good example would be very effective to lead others to the word of God. But you must keep in mind, if you aren't what you say and don't meet the expectations, people would consider you a hypocrite. It's always better to purify yourself before going on to others. Although no one's perfect, but to help others and show them the truth, you must have a good impression.

Friend, I have always said if I can not live what I am trying to portray, Then something is wrong, A true Christian will try his best to portray the life of a True Christian. A true Christian is Christ Like, There is many people professing Christianity & don't live it, I have always believe, We are the only bible some people will read. In my 36 yrs. plus in serving God, I have seen them all.

Absolutely. People are tired of trying to believe what the self-appointed carriers of God's word are. If they see you living well and being happy even in times of distress how could they reject the possibility that you have some kind of answer that they don't. But if you are too busy "teaching" to take care of your own life then they are sure to be watching when you mess up. Besides, teachers aren't trying to teach anything generally, they are trying to attract attention to themselves and although I can't prove that theory, there is plenty of proof to go around. When someone asks you about your beliefs that's when it is time to share, until then you are just hoping they will be ready and that may well bring about a feeling of revoltion that will make it more difficult for them to want to know more later on.

Yes and no.
Yes if your outsides match your insides.
No if you are self righteous and condescending.
If we speak the truth in love with all humility then that would be the best example you could set before a non believer. IMHO.
May GOD richly bless you.

Yes, I do. I've always gravitated to people who have a sense of inner peace and take troubles as they come. After asking these people their secret, it is always the same answer. They have God in their lives and feel that comfort. It led me to strengthen my faith.

Having a good testimony is vital, but a lost person must hear about the plan of salvation, on order to make that decision.

Yes, most times that is all you can do. No one can change another's mind, not even God unless you ask him to. The individual must find it within himself to want to change.

If you treat all people with respect, and pray for all the good people who do enter your life, you'll do so much better than dropping leaflets through their doors!
