Morally you may deserve compensation but leglly not, sorry.

They are replacing the faulty machines in a timely manner, 28 days woud be the time before you can start making a fuss.

You could try with a letter about the machine not being fit for purpose but a couple of breaks is not a chain of evidence that the machines design is a load of crock. They ship so many of these things, sometimes there are dodgy ones. And i guess sooner or later stastistically one person will get 2 dodgy ones in a row.

Unfortunately, stastistically someone is likely to get 3 dodgy machine in a row, i hope its not you !

Legaly they will not be responsible for the costs of the lauderette. This is consequential loss and retailers don't garuntee and cover people for it.

Oh man, that just sucks! First things first, put on your best angry face and go to the store and talk to the GM, let him know how unhappy you are and that if he does not make this right you will never spend a dollar at their store agin, also ask him for the corprate office number, call them and give them a grillen. Or contact the company that makes the washer and dont take no for an answer, ask them what there ame is if they wont make you happy, then ask to talk to there boss, keep doing this and someone will come around, someone wont want to lose there job! Good luck!

Who did you buy this thing from? New appliances are usually quite reliable. Anyway if this is a national chain of stores like Lowe's, Home Depot, Sears, etc... then call and speak with the store manager. Do not take no for an answer. Talk with someone in charge as opposed to the regular customer service person. If that fails, then contact the Better Business Bureau.

The same thing happened to me - we just got our new washing machine delivered on Saturday after 3 weeks of going to lauderette at £10 a time - our store gave us a different model but only because they stopped selling the model I originally bought, read the terms & conditions carefully to see what they say, it may be they don't offer a different model unless the one you chose is discontinued.

I do think you deserve compensation, but whether you bought a product offering it - I doubt you'll get it... I can feel your pain.

You should write to the most senior person you can find and detail everything that has happened. Tell them how unhappy you are about a) the standard of machines that you've been sent and b) their attitude towards you. Then ask him/her what THEY are going to do about it, giving them a time limit in which to respond. While they might not be obligated to give you any cash, I should imagine that a good will gesture might go a long way to smoothing your ruffled feathers. Good luck.

Check the conditions of your warranty. Are they being reasonable? Primarily though, this sounds like a merchantable quality issue - Sale of Goods Act.

Get your money back, or look another model.

As for claiming your laundry money back, keep reciepts and go to citizens advice - RE Small claims court.

It might not be worth the hassle. Get your money back and shop elsewhere.

They have to give you refund if you have proof of purchase, its one of your consumer rights, who on earth did you buy it from anyway, contact Consumer Direct immediatly either by phone on 08454 04 05 06 or the website www.consumerdirect.gov.uk and they can give you practicle advice as this company who you bought the washing machine from is taking you for a ride.
