I know you have to apply and give details but has anybody done this or do they know how they decide. Am due for sentencing soon in England and looking at 12-18 months for assult (ABH). Just want to know would I have a chance of getting a visa and if so, how long would I have to wait after I get out. (Just thinking ahead)

Generally, for a crime of moral turpitude such as assault, you will not be admissable into the United States. Waivers are available depending upon which type of visa you desire.
