put egg in cold water. once it comes to a boil, turn the heat off and let it sit (covered or uncovered) for 10 minutes. yellow bright yolk, and a perfect egg.

the 3 minute rule works also. (start timing from when it starts to boil)

i put some vinegar into the water first this stops the egg from leaking everywhere if broken .when boiled add the eggs about 31/2 mins is about right then pour cold water to stop them from over cooking.
