as soon as the water in the pan starts to boil time the egg for 3 mins use an egg timer or put a cup of water in the microwave on timer for 3 mins you should then have a perfect egg

Hi: It takes 5 minutes for a egg to cook. If you want it soft and mush than 3 minutes. After cooking make sure to put the egg in cold water this will be much easier to remove the shell.

put egg in cold water. once it comes to a boil, turn the heat off and let it sit (covered or uncovered) for 10 minutes. yellow bright yolk, and a perfect egg.
the 3 minute rule works also. (start timing from when it starts to boil)

i put some vinegar into the water first this stops the egg from leaking everywhere if broken .when boiled add the eggs about 31/2 mins is about right then pour cold water to stop them from over cooking.
