I'm interested on the views of Christians, Muslims, Jews, etc on whether someone can be a devout religious person while in a same sex relationship. Is it really a huge problem if they go against one rule in the Bible when so many other religious people do the same with sex outside of marriage/for pleasure?

Corina - The people Sodom and Gomorrah committed more sinful acts than simple homosexuality. On top of that, one guy that the Bible was portraying as some sort of good guy threw his daughter and his male guest's concubine to the mob to protect his male guest from them, do you agree with that? That story should be put to rest.

Also I see you sidestepped the part about sex for pleasure not reproduction.

Just_a_guy. All I can say is, what a load of BS. You're saying that Jesus would rather you give up what could possibly be your only chance of true love and companionship? Just for your religion? That's a bit far fetched considering he preached forgiveness and understanding.
Did you consider the fact that he may simply have not liked homosexuality because he was straight? Even if he was God he still had urges of the flesh.

well according to the bible homosexuality is a sin. but, so is lying, stealing, cheating, men lusting after women, uncontrolled anger, and so on with things people do everyday. if this person chooses the sin of homosexuality with these other sins we do everyday he is still loved by God just as the liar. he/she needs to put faith and trust in Jesus Christ and believe He is the Son of God and he died for their sins and rose again to receive salvation.
the sin of homosexuality is wrong and sinful, but just as sinful as any other sin that people, including myself, chose to do.

Good Question!!! This is what so many people do, but yet some other people like myself are not surprised at this because things we say in the life of today are far from things we mean. Even the religious leaders who teach us how to live go about doing things they wont let us do for fun. Being religious is far from being spiritual, in fact religion hinder spirituality in the heart of many. One thing is real in life and that is the urge for self-satisfaction. Everybody wants to be happy and satisfied in all aspect of life. I wont say my view in being a gay here...I have a serious opinion on the issue of being a gay. Being a gay and religious can be possible if your religion says so. If your religion asks you not to be a gay, then you have two options: leave the gay or the religion...if not why not, everything doable is possible.

It is a big deal. If a person is faithful they will do their best to keep the commandments that the Lord has given them. God doe not call being gay normal. God made man and women. He did not make another man. Man and women compliment one another. I don't have anything against the Gay community. If Gays think that their marriages glorify God they are sadly mistaken. One should not test the Lord God. Homosexuality can be cured. The churches that allow gay marriage are not faithful Christian churchs. These churches are religious churches. Religion kills. Faith in Jesus Christ saves.
Mar 7:6-9
(6) He answered and said unto them, Well hath Isaiah prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoreth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
(7) Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
(8) For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
(9) And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
I hope that this answers your question. If you are gay and are trying to have a relationship with Jesus Christ and be married to another person who is gay, you need to chose between Jesus and your partner. You can not have both. It is better to be single and fight the urges and have Jesus than commit sin and honour Jesus with your lips but not your heart. God is a jealous God. Jesus wants all of you. Jesus will not share you with somebody else. You are either in all the way or you are out.
God Bless.

Dear Puppy,
From a muslim perspective being gay is a big sin. Same as in christianity and Judaism. The only form of allowed sex is through marriage in any religion. But this shouldn't stop you from performing your rituals. Because it's all about points. You pray you get + points and you disobey you get - points. At judgment day if your score is positive you go to heaven God willing and vice versa God forbid. Your degree in heaven depends on how many points you score so start collecting. Meaning, it's not the same for every one in heaven or hell. Some live in buildings and other live in castles. There are many things on earth that are really pleasurable and tempting like drugs and sex but it doesn't mean that we give up to them (believe me i tried everything). I decided few years ago to give up my naughty habits since life on earth is far far far more shorter than eternity. I'd rather wait and be patient and collect the BIG LONG LASTING prize.

No, it is not possible , as far as ur question goes.
Hullo, if u think that "religious people" indulge in sex outside marriage, then they are clearly NOT religious.
And for the record, I'm a Catholic Christian. Nowhere is it approved in our religion to indulge in adultery or in same sex relationships. God clearly forbids it.
As you can see for yourself, read the Holy Bible, the story of Sodom and Gomorrah. The people in this city particularly indulged in homosexuality... God sent rain of sulphur and destroyed the city for it's sinfulness.

It all depends on whether the person supports or opposses such issues. Religion was made by man. God didn't come down and hand over a book with rules on human behaviour. We should follow and do something that doesn't harm others or intends harm to others or ourselves.
We should live harmoniously in the society and never upset the balance.

Of course it is possible. Many religious people are going to hell. Including those that are in same sex relationships outside of marriage.

...asdlkgjslgj um yeah I consider it is relatively feasible to oppose gays/homosexual marriage effortlessly since you discover it unusual/anything your motives occur to be. Just adore it's feasible not to possess a puppy although you are now not a Muslim. Just since there is such a lot hype approximately a few Christians opposing homosexual marriage doesn't suggest you have got to suppose within the identical God they do :/

Homosexuality is rampant in the Church. Look at all these gay priests, bishops, cardinals, pastors, etc that are all respected and loved and considered holy until it is found out they swing for the wrong team.

Judging by the comments I have read by religious people about homosexuality, it would require some mental gymnastics on your part.
