"Honour killing' may not be in the Quran, but a lot of fundamentalist imams in Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran and Saudi Arabia DO kill their daughters for dating, marrying non-Muslim men and believe honour killing as their duty to Allah.

In asking this question I am neither condemning or condoning honour killing, but just seeking first-hand opinion. It seems a lot of Muslims who answered my question have their heads buried in the sand and are ignorant of the Muslim men who kill their daughters in the name of Islam .

According to the teachings of Islam a Muslim female cannot marry a Christian or any non Muslim. This marriage will not be considered as legal. This will be adultery. So according to Islam the punishment for adultery is stoning to death provided the person who commit adultery is married otherwise he/she will be given 80 slashes.

(Muslim women can only marry MUSLIM men. Muslim men can marry JEW or CHRISTIAN women).
If a Muslim girl marries a non-Muslim without him converting, the marriage is bull-and-void in the eyes of Islam. She is living in sin with him.
We are not here to discuss what Muslims might do, I will only tell U that the Quran stated the above, in brackets, clearly. The Quran did not tell the fathers to kill daughters. No one has the right to take anyone's life, except in war/battle (obvious). Quran said about killing: "Those who kill intentionally are burned in everlasting fire (hell)". If U read this, U will know that we cannot kill, honour or no honour, DO NOT kill. End of the storey.

That's a good Q

Honor killing is not in a law of Islam.
-------------------------
To date and have sex with Muslim girls, not married her comes the Honor, and it is an old story, since the era before Islam, where they used to Barry girls a life, and it has been condemned strongly by Islam.
---------------------------
what is going now in Islamic and non-Muslim societies in the Arab world or as you mentioned in Pakistan....etc, since the community is made of tribes and this act i.e when a lady goes with a man even if he is Muslim and they are not related or married and it happen that they had something goes into public to be bad then Honor comes her, where if you have say a prince in your tribe then the are going to attack you for the act of that lady? and you can't sustain it or absorb it.
But if a man do it well he is responsible for him self and nothing can change a lot, but well be non-trustable to some extent.
Do not ask me why? the community has it's roles?

I'm answering this strictly to expose your ignorance. No, they're not, because Muslim women are forbidden in Islam to marry outside of our religion. It never happens. Honor killings are more cultural than religious, and the majority of Muslims are against this. Not that you're really looking for an answer, but that is the truth. Hopefully you can handle it.

We know about honor killings, but most of us don't condone them. They are only done by people who are ignorant. So our heads are not burried in the sand. We know it goes on, and as I said before, we don't believe in it. 99% of Muslims don't practice this kind of thing.

No! there is nothing in the Quran that supports this claim. Actually, the social/ religious norm that says muslim women can not marry a christian does not exist in the quran. It is taken for granted that they can not do so, but there is nothing solid to support this rule.

I challenge anyone to get a quotation from quran that states a muslim woman can not marry a christian and please do not give me the b.s that chistians are not people of the book. Jews & christians are akownledged & accepted under Islam.

No, the practice of honour killing is totally unIslamic. Please show me a verse in the Qur'an that tells families to kill their daughters who choose to marry a non Muslim.

The people who are committing or allowing these crimes are tainting the name of Islam with unrelated cultural and social practices. It is better to say that they are not practicing Muslims at all.

"There is no such concept in Islam that is called “honor killing”. Islam holds every soul in high esteem and does not allow any transgression upon it. It does not allow people to take the law in their own hands and administer justice, because doing so will be leading to chaos and lawlessness. Therefore, based on this, Islam does not permit such killings."

I read 16 answers all full of lies.
My father in law sent a letter to me threatening death due to me by Moslems. He is a Doctor, well educated and very succesful in many countries. He has written and been published in books about Islam.
I believe him not these 16 lies.
I forwarded the letter to our American Secretary of State who wrote the Doctor and advised him this is not an American custom.
We have not seen him since even though he continued to travel to the USA.

This is not Islam---------but, a cultural thing that has persisted thruout the ages. Pagans also practiced this. The Muslim countries have it outlawed, but old habits die hard, as the saying goes.
