Think I understand your question. It's true if you have some techniques you can win in gambling activities including stock and real estate, not only from the casino.
The fact is most people winning the lottery lose nearly all or most of the winfall at the end (probably because they didn't really make a change or improvement in life themselves, money changes their lives for a short period of time, not themselves change their lives)
My answer is both are good money depending on your situation like the probability and risk and timing.

Win every time. I've worked hard enough over the years. A win-fall would be great! I'd put the money towards an end to famine and world peace. oh, hang on, no I wouldn't. Nice house, fleet of cars and villa's all over the world. I'd prob get my top 3 or 4 friends rich too, so i've some genuine friends to enjoy the money with

To earn it is a better choice, as you can earn it again if you use up the 10 million.
As for lottery, once finish might not get another chance to strike it again.
