Hiya,

Ask your vet, you should probably do it for about 6 months maybe just so they know where to come back to when they are finally allowed out, if you have had them from when they were very tiny then you should be able to let them out a bit sooner.

As for the work surfaces, if you buy a watering spray can (around £1 from garden centres) and give them a quick spray of water when they do it, they won't like it and will soon learn to stop.

If you want to help them get rid of some of the energy, you could try buying them some cat toys and a scratching post. That way there is less chance they will damage any of your belongings!

Good luck.

they should be ok to go out now what i do with previous kittens is bring the food outside and bring them to it so they know where food is and first steps outside they won't go far .oh it helps if you either whistle before food is given or bang fork on tin this helps when they are adventurous they know the call .(i've always been able to get my cats with a whistle)
The worktops is a hard job as they are now bigger to get up on all furniture etc.
couple of choices here a string of cans placed on the worktop that if jumped up will fall and scare kitty and a water spray ,if you are in kitchen any time kitty's jump up they get sprayed with water.in meantime get some antibacterial spray to keep those worktops clean.they soon learn worktops aren't nice place to be.

Cats are fine to go out once they've been neutered/spayed.Don't let them before as they may produce a considerable number of unwanted off spring.Mine is the same age, and he jumps on our worktops too, i hate it.I used to give him a sharp tap on the nose and say 'down', but now if he does it i only have to say 'down', as he doesn't want to tap on the nose! He doesn't do it very often now.

If you live where they won't get hurt outside, they can go at about 10 weeks. Make sure you watch them while they're out. Get them a cat tree and some toys to keep them from driving you crazy. Scold for jumping on the counters. Good luck!

Once they have had their injections etc they can go out.
Regarding the worktops you have to firm - tell them no and take them off. Mind you, cats are bit thick and obstinate; they don;t like being told what to do!

my 6 kittens are only 6 months old but they only sit on the back garden wall for an hour and then comes back in and run all over the house, kittens are better in the garden when it comes to being independent and you could train them scratch other things like scratch posts you could buy from pet shops and how to got to the toilet outside by buying a cat flap for your back door, it worked on my 6 kittens and we dont have our kitten litter trays anymore, it works everytime, I hope I have helped you,

Mine do the same thing. I purchased a toy squirt gun and whenever I see them do this, I squirt them with water. It seems to have helped. I don't let mine go outside for fear they will get lost or run over by a vehicle; but I know many people who do. They are probably ready to do so now.

tap them on the nose each time they go on the counter
they hate it and will think to theire self in the end "if i get up there i'm gonna get that tap on my nose i think i'll stay away"

you can let them out now also but keep an eye on them each time they go out
and make sure they are up to date with their kitten jabs first

I think they're about ready to go out, but make sure they're wearing something decent, always stay with their friends, and have a mobile phone with them at all times.
