Scientology is supported despite vicious propaganda. Shorely there must be something great to it if its expanding. Dont listen to the hate mongers read from the source and you will be amazed.

Well, heroin use was greatly expanding at one time in our recent history -- but just because something is expanding, doesn't automatically make it great.

Didn't Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard say that he wanted to start a religion because that's where the money is???

Oh sure, WHAT DOES IT COST?
Lets see, the more I pay the more BLESSINGS I RECEIVE, eh.
Wow!
That sure is amazing.
You know it costs nothing at all to follow JESUS CHRIST.
No really, CHRISTIANITY IS STILL FREE.
Oh yeah there is the TITHING thing I suppose.
Hate Mongers....
sure....Dig deeper (in you wallet) and you will receive more POWERS. Or gifts that are secret...
Sounds like a CULT to me.
Ya know the Catholic Church tried to tell people if they PAID MORE MONEY, that they could go to a BETTER HEAVEN, I bet those people are roasting some marshmellows on a golden stick now, yeah right up the devils butt!
Scientology works, BAH!
I would rather put my faith in Jesus, or as some would say, the dead guy.
Though I know He is ALIVE today.
I even believe He is God incarnate.
That is the power of faith.
And unlike SCIENTOLOGY, or J.Z.Knight (Ramse-ism?) or any other hoopla worship, it is still FREE.
And I can have it all just by having a little FAITH.
PRAISE GOD
in JESUS HOLY NAME. Amen.

I've read a lot about Scientology, from objective sources too. I've talked to Scientologists and after using all of the 5 seconds I NEEDED to think about whether this thing was good or bad, I came up with conclusion: SCIENTOLOGY IS A MONEY-MAKING CULT PREYING ON THE WEAK-MINDED!!!

C'mon how can you honestly believe in galactic dictators sending billions to Earth in DC-10 planes and nuking them all in volcanoes... this written by a science-fiction writer who said the best way to make a million dollars was to start a religion.

Best use of this forum is to ask questions that will allow others to answer and give information, , rather than ask others to change their opinions about something.
People do NOT know what Scientology is, and get their info from bogus sources that have a vested interest in attacking it .
Also they sometimes get the wrong impression from Scientologists who simply do not apply Scientology correctly and do not know how to answer their questions.

The best way to counter this is to give them the facts when they ask. Like this:

Scientology is an applied religious philosophy. When I say "applied" I mean you actually use it in your life to change or improve existing conditions. This is different from a religious practice. All religions if you learn about them have a basic philosphy, but they also have certain dogma, rituals and observances, and a certain faith or belief is required. There is nothing wrong with this, but Scientology is not that kind of religion. It does not intrude on anyones faiths of beliefs particularly in the area of God , the Supreme Being, or the Infinite. This area is left totally up to the indivdual, which is why you can be a practicing Jew,for example and still use and apply the priniciples of Scientology in your life. It does not conflict. If anything it will enhance your understanding of your chosen religious practice.
You can have no specific religious beliefs and still benefit from using it.
And it is only true for you according to your own observation and experience with it.
It is a non denominational religion . The dictionary definition that applies:
Religion: The spiritual or emotional attitude of one who recognises the existence of superhuman power or powers.

The most basic principle of Scientology is that YOU are your own immortal soul, that this is not a "thing" you HAVE but what YOU actually are.
The whole purpose of Scientology is to increase an individual's understanding and awareness of himself. And thereby his native abilities .
When you do this the sphere and zone of his positive influence increases and moves outward into his life, his family ,his friends, his groups and mankind which he is part of.

How this result is achieved is the "technology" of Scientology, which was developed by L.Ron Hubbard after his extensive research and the discoveries he made, about the human spirit. The basic religious philosophy and knowledge of Scientology is very old, going back 10,000 years at least to the Veda or Vedic Hymns from the East. The developement of the technology is new.
He completed his research before his death in 1986 and left all of his results and copyrights
to the Church of Scientology along with most of his considerable personal estate, when he died.

He published a book in 1951 to communicate the basic principles he discovered called: " Scientology The Fundementals of Thought"
There are currently over 10 million Scientologists in more than 163 countries world wide. However we are a new religion, only 53 years old.
The true story of Scientology as a religion goes like this:
1. A philosopher developes a philosophy about life and death.
2. People find it interesting.
3. People find it works.
4. People pass it along to others.
5. It grows.

It is also vital to know the facts and know what Scientology is
oneself. Best reference for this is a book called "What is Scientology". This book was compiled by the Church of Scientology for the exact purpose of answering peoples questions and giving them all the info about what it is, so there is no mystery and all the false data is fully dealt with.

All that said........ You are absolutely right. Scientology works!!
There is no question about it!!!

I've known some Scientologists personally...and they seem just a bit messed up; can't get a straight answer out of them. And...after seeing Tom Cruise's behavior and judgemental attitude on TV, and the tasteless things he has said to others, NO THANK YOU! Besides that, I really don't consider it a religion; it's a Philosophy. Anyone can call something a religion, and you get a religious tax status on the income.

No it does not it may seem to but it is a false church like all the rest! I was a staff member years ago in one of their so called churches and I found it to be evil with a few good people trapped in it! This was before God called me out of the world.

Oh yes, and anyone who says different is a Supressive Person, right? What a marvelous plan, label anyone who doesn't wholeheartedly buy into it the way you do as an enemy, as a psychopath, as expendable. Naaaaahhhh, not a cult at ALL.
