I was looking for a new apartment and my parents came to me and asked me to move in with a family friend. He bought a house beyond his means and needed additional rent to pay the bills. My parents offered to help with my rent so that they could help him out without offending his pride. It was a win win situation. I am not starving but the additional money helps. All of a sudden my parents have been harrassing me on how I spend my money. I get weekly phone calls complaining that thay heard I went to a bar or a road trip. Complaining that this is how I spend their money. I don't understand. I thought I was helping out one of their friends. I even turned down the money a number of times until I finally gave in and accepted it, they thought it was their contribution to our family friend. What Gives?

Wow it is a puzzling one. As a figure who became once a teen (sure keep in mind we were your age once, and we do keep in mind what it became like, nicely lots of the time besides) i visit confirm your aspect and theirs. As between the solutions says, your room in all likelihood didnt get like this in one day, and they have in all likelihood requested you to sparkling it up more effective than some situations. I also understand that it really is your puzzling earned money, and except for protection, well being or criminal motives, your father and mom quite would not have a say in the way you spend it, fairly even as it really is for something like an ipod. You suggested you pre-ordered it, which skill it really is in basic terms not coming for awhile, and it is your room, and also you mad the mess correct? So does not or not that is considered your criminal responsibility? Im particular your father and mom do not cost you lease, or make you pay by your self nutrients, or all of your own clothing, so as that they are searching after you. Take a 1/2 hour out daily till eventually its wiped clean to their pride, then in basic terms in basic terms %. up after your self any further, no more effective challenge. I desire I had the suitable answer, I dont, you want to really imagine about how a lot you'll loose in case you do run away, its a huge recommend chilly international and the international will anticipate alot more effective from you than a sparkling room, believe me.

First of all, how old are you, anyway? If you're an adult, with a full-time job, you can always politely inform your parents of that fact, and that you are free to come and go as you please. If they have a problem with that, tell them you will start looking for a new place to live, that you were under the impression that YOU were helping THEM.

people only feel they can interfere if you let them,,it really isnt any of their business and you have to stand up for yourself,,dont make apologies,or even explain where your money goes,,it is yours and you earned it i assume,,thank them for their concern but do make it clear that if it is so much of a problem and it keeps them awake at night,,you wont have any help from them and will still spend the same,,just because they have given you something doesnt mean you have to start doing what they think you should do,,maybe it is time to choose who you want to live with and not do it just to help out someone else,,im sure he could find someone else to live there.

they are trying to control you..it may have started out as a win-win, but the situation has changed. You need to confront them about this behavior asap. if you choose not to confront them, then move out and tell them its just not working out for you. they are using this person to get intimate details about your life....
