Throat infections are usually quite bad. Often there will be swelling in the glands that are further in your throat, not your tonsils and often white spotting at the back of your tongue. If it has developed to an infection then you will feel like you are breathing the infection up through your throat and out of your mouth whilst you beathe. most uncomfortable and off putting i know, have been here myself, but please see your doc asap as throat infections can spreed to your ears and nose if not treated with the right antibioctics asap, which will leave you feeling awful and normally carries a recovery time of up to 4 weeks, so get it sorted before it reaches this satge. Had one earlier this year. Not very pleasant. Couldn't swallow or talk for a few days. Had white blisters down one side of my throat which then went over the other side after a few days. Had a Temperature. Had to get antibiotics from doctor. It also went up to my ears. Hopefully you don't have it as bad as I did but if the symptons are anywhere like I had, go see the doctor.

You will have an inflamed, sore throat with white spots on it. You may have a high temperature, a sore head and will feel like crap. If you think you have this keep gargling with salt water or dissolved disprin. Drink plenty of water and control fever with paracetamol. If you're at the stage with high temperature you'll probably need to get an antibiotic.

Same symtoms as mentioned in other answer - but try avoid antibiotics if you can - if not take probiotics.
Natures Way Primadophus Retueri is also great for infections. Repopulating your friendly bacteria after antibiotics is very important.
Reuteri can be purchased in the UK as drops - try Vantage chemist (Infacol Probiotics) or mail order from the USA.

pain swallowing, swollen glands, pain talking and a cough. if it's a chest infection you would have a very deep cough.
