First, not all group of people or teachings coming down so hard on Christians. Christians teaching is criticize hard by atheist or free thinkers.
Other religions such as Islam, Judaism & Buddism do not critisize hard on Christians teaching but say that their religious teachings differ from Christians teachings.
For example, Islam says its religion also teaches about believing that there is God. But Islam do not believe in the concept of Trinity. Islam says that there is only one absolute God, the only one God without son or partners.

Maybe it's because of the glaring hypocrisy from christians.
I mean, do you really think that Rev. Ted Haggard believes everything that he pushed in people's faces? Obviously, this very prominent ex-church leader was just using the bible to make himself look good and to sound influential, while not believing or practicing what he preached. And he is not the first, nor will he be the last.

Well, honestly, I think in part it has to do with christians who have an influence in many people's lives, like Mr. Haggard, being such an obvious hypocrite. While he is outspokenly condemning homosexuality, he is having gay sex. I mean really, could anyone tell from his preaching or churchy lifestyle? No, they couldn't. There is a lot of this that goes on. I can understand why anyone would come down hard on christians right now.

As long as Christianity, as well as several of the other "ultimate truths", have as their end and gleefully sought after goal, the END OF THE WORLD, and as long as they believe that their rights are being violated if they are denied the opportunity to use the coercive power of the state to shove their god down every ones throat, you will have to put up with us being in your face. Why should we abandon a forum where we can let you know that you will not be allowed to carry out the silly "End Times" rubbish that you seem to forget would include the rest of us.

I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but Christians do not have a monopoly on being hated for their beliefs.
Jews and Muslims can sing the same song.--And in greater numbers.
Even different Christians hate each other for believing differently.
Our Human race has the unfortunate tendency to hate the things that are different, or what they don't understand.

In all religious belief systems, there is a great deal of hypocrisy.
You know, people who say they love GOD but hate someone here on earth.
Most are more controlled by their respective governments than true belief in GOD.
Religious sects, Christians, Muslim, Hindu etc. cause the major divisions on our planet.
If we all truly love GOD and not allow religious belief systems to divide us, THERE WOULD NOT BE HYPOCRITES THAT SAY THEY LOVE GOD WHOM THEY HAVE NEVER SEEN, YET KILL THEIR FELLOW MAN, WHO THEY SEE EVERYDAY.
People are afraid due to lies government(s) spread to creat a smoke screen while stealing our personal freedoms.

I think it is a part of learning and growing as a Christian. The more you get tested the more you will grow. I was just thinking about the same thing. My first instinct is to get angry but then I realized that should not be my reaction. I should learn to be more like Jesus and be loving with people, even when they really make me angry. I think that people expect Christians to be perfect, and then when we aren't people see it as hypocrisy. Christians are just people who are trying, but not always succeeding, to be like Jesus. But then that is why Jesus was sent, because we are not perfect and never will be.

I don't come down on Christians. I do however come down on Christianity. It is an outdated mythology that should be discarded along with all other religions.
The world would be a better place if they realized what they have now is all they will ever have, and they had better make the most of it.

Oyy!
I have no problem with you per se. Its just that whenever I speak to Christians this is what happens:
he has a son!! (wth..he impregnated mary?)
No he made Mary have Jesus (so that about sums up how I came about right...am his son too right?)
No no only Jesus is His son. (I dont get it)
Hm but ofcourse Jesus is God himself incarnated and died for my sins (so erm..youre saying God...The God...of all that is.had to die as a human for ur sins?? Couldnt he have forgiven you as He already is?)
No no..why is it so hard to believe God can be human if he pleases?? (Am not saying He cant, am just saying its a little wierd for Him to have to die for my sins...in such a horrible death)
You dont get it!! You have No faith in Jesus Christ!! (I do...but I think he was a man who was born to prove to the Jews God can make a man out of nothing and he praised the lord more than anyone else did...why is it so hard for u to understand that?)
Jesus is the Savior! (You need to understand...people were saved as long as they believed and worshipped the One God...not Jesus)
*Movie breaks*
Thats why I come hard on Jesus worshippers.

I don't have a problem with Christians, or anyone believing in God.
I do have a problem with laws being made on someone else's morality that affect my life. My significant other has lupus, a chronic, incurable auto-immune disease that results in constant pain and fatigue, and can literally cause the body to attack its own organs. Preliminary research has shown that stem cells can be used to help reboot the immune system and actually cure the disease.
So, his cure is held back by someone else's morals. That I'm not too happy with.
