Well! I can only comment on the name.

"bunnahabhain" translates as

"Bottom of the River".

I hope the whisky is not muddy

The website says that 'bunnahabhain' means estuary. It might but not as I speak Gaelic I say "béalahabhainn" is estuary. Any takers? I'm on e-mail

I agree with the person who mentioned Islay single malts the Morrison Bowmore is rather nice and I like the Tallisker too. Recently tried some Welsh Whiskey and pleasantly surprised too. THe person who advised trying out whiskeys at a pub before buying is quite sensible too.

I once had a whisky in the Ilse of Man many year's ago, it was Crystal clear, it had not been coloured by resting in an old burnt barrel, I can't remember what it was called but it was like drinking the tear's of an angel. :¬)

it's definatly a good choice , i quite like isle of jura, but any islay single malt is a good choice - i tend to go along the shelf and have a shot of each single malt one after the other and not look too much at the name on the bottle especially since when i get halfway along the shelf i start to have problems focussing enough to read them (but not blended whiskey i stick to the good stuff) - response to the person asking about tallisker it is a nice whiskey but before you go buying a bottle i suggest you find a pub with a good selection of single malts and try a few till you find which you prefer

many Islay single malts work for me.good peaty taste with a hint of sea air..........mmmmm
it has to be a single malt because Bourbons ARE NOT REALwhiskeys
.thats just American moonshine fit only as an anti-septic.

There are a few Irish whiskeys that are enjoyable though

will try your suggestion next time I visit my whiskey guy...CHEERS
