For me, I took an interest in Buddhism but only to educate myself.... then, I read "Ethics for the New Millenium" by the Dalai Lama and I had the same experience that people talk about.... like the whole white-light feeling....
Then I started meeting all these really nice, intelligent Buddhist people who seemed very patient and well-adjusted.... I wanted that.

What was it for you?

I was raised Roman Catholic, started out that was, although God himself was my teacher, God not only saved my life more times then cats have life's. I didn't realize God was always there by my side, he teach me through life experiences, and suffering, and in the end I was able to release my resentment, and become who I was intended to be, worked and molded like clay in the hand of God. I now feel I don't need to be in any religion, that I have a personal spiritual relationship with God Jesus Christ.

Dear Rabble Rouser--

There have been many persons who have had an experience of a "whole white-light feeling" and there are many really nice, intelligent, seemingly patient and well-adjusted persons who still need God's salvation.

King David said, Psalm 27:1 "The LORD is my light and my salvation".

Acts 4:12, "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved

II Cor 11:14
3 But I am afraid that somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve in his craftiness, so your minds might be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

4 For if he who comes preaches another Jesus, whom we did not preach, or if you receive a different spirit, which you did not receive, or a different "good news", which you did not accept, you put up with that well enough.

This was the deciding factor for me. I did not want a religion, but a personal experience of God.

Well , it has to be in a way that one should know most of the religions (the very known ones, sure) , then to decide according to what to believe in.
I do not agree with someone say I found my family on that religion so I have to be in it, No this is not the way.
One should believe in the religion that answers his questtions in life and religion that has all answer for future problem(s). If not leave it because it is not worthy to believe in it.

It made sense. Christianity never made sense to me, and I never felt at home in a "single parent" religion where there was no Mother to guide me or call on for help. I started reading about Wicca, and I went, "OH!" I didn't really chose to be Wiccan or a witch, I just realized it's what I am.

When I was a child, my religion and faith was supported by what my parents taught me. I believed in One God and all humans to be His creatures. That made sense to me.

In later years, Ive lived through some hellish experiences that left me stranded and had to fight to protect myself and my faith was the only thing that kept me going.

God does not leave those who put their trust in Him.

I dont have a religion, I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. THAT was the deciding factor.

Also, my sister had been involved in Satanism and the ONLY way to get out without being killed, is by having the blood of Jesus Christ covering you, because Jesus is the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father (God) except through Him. Demons tremble at His name because they too, know that He is Truth.

Be blessed.

A religion must be true and it must be directly from the Only God, the creator of mankind. Man made religion sounds good but it is against God's will.

Having a close encounter with Jesus Christ... He came into my heart and forgave my sin... i felt it and it was wonderful. I felt like a little child again pure and innocent. Can Allah do that? Can Buddha do that? Can any other religious leader or god do that?
Only One can do that.
Thank you Jesus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
