i am ntrying to put my own sound scheme to windows xp the default sounds are wav files but the sounds i have are MP3 and wont work

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ -Audacity music tool.

Open the MP3, select File -Export as WAV, job done!
And its free.

theres a freeware prog.www.eusing.co.uk it converts cd to mp3 mp3 to wav etc

Go to http://www.audio-converter.com/ and click download in the left window. This software gives you all the options and formats you need.
