If we are to survive in the world, we would at least need the basics, like air, water, food, clothing and a home...

Yes, it is part of the illusion that is to be overcome, how can there be need if all has been given. While lack does not exist in the creation of God, it is very apparent in what you have made.It is, in fact , the essential differences between them. Lack implies that you would be better off in a state somehow different from the one you are in . Until the "separation, " which is the meaning of the " fall " nothing was lacking. There were no needs at all. Needs arise only when you deprive yourself.

I AM

No. We need air to breathe, water to drink, and food to eat. Anything else could be determined as wants, however that depends on what you think is vanity. We can definately go without most wants, like a car, a watch, a phone, too many clothes, more than one pair of shoes, large dwellings, large salaries. I know I can, I already do most of those, and I feel so much better for it.

Yes we can and must if you wish to achieve True Happiness... so saith Gautama Buddha! One day some time some place your will Realize "YOU ARE"! At that time you will experience what some called "ONENESS". Then at another point in Consciousness you will experience 'WHOLENESS'! ... then later the experience of 'Gestalt'!
Jesus expressed these realities of consciousness in the simple words of "I AM" !
Also make note there is a big difference between 'Need' and 'Desire'. Creation can not exist without 'Desire'.
Does God/Life/Source need anything?

wouldn't it be great if no-one on this earth needed anything
But i am afraid that, that's not so. there are to many people out there than are in need. They need food, they need money. just somewhere to live, they are thirsty, some just need someone to talk to all they want is a friend. When there are others that don't need for anything. and yet they are not happy.
If we all knew of Jesus love and peace want a much better place this world would be.

May God bless you

No, I don't think so because even if we are rich and don't need anything physically, we have spiritual and emotional needs, too. You may say, "I feel like I don't need anything right now in my life," but if one of those things was taken away, you would. So I'd say no. That's my final answer.
