(1) if you ask a guy out for drinks and he says yes, but rather than making a "date" he says, just call me when your in town next(as we live in different towns), is he really interested? ..................
(2) I have met him a few times and we have kissed eachother. he does show all the signs that he likes me, but he still hasnt asked me out on a proper date. its still, give me a call when your next in town. i came out of a 6 year relationship 8 months ago, could he just be playing it cool because of this?he knows about my past relationship as i met this guy thru my ex. hes not a friend of my ex and i didnt split with my ex for this guy.
this guy has been chasing me for ages, even when i was with my ex.

I would say that he has ongoing agendas and just if you call him when you're next in town he may just be free and knowing your'e calling he may think he's gonna have what he wants that night as you are going after him...............leave him the option of going somewhere like the cinema or for a coffee one afternoon and if he does its not just after the pub he wants to see at.

my answer wont stay for long so read it quick. the guy is just going with the flow. he doesn't want to put you out, but he dosen't want to commit. relax you "suit" he is being cool just enjoy it if its meant to be then it will.
