Sorry to read of your stress. Try some stress management techniques, especially before bed. Some to try:
1. Slow, deep breathing: inhale for a count of 4, hold for 4, exhale for 4. Do for 5 minutes several times per day.
2. Visualization exercises
3. Progressive muscle relaxation.
4. Quiet music.
(You can do an internet search for specific exercises for 2 & 3.)
Medical school and nursing, in particular, have a stress component built in. You have to be able to function with a lot of stress to be a physician or a nurse, so learning to cope with this is a necessary life skill. The instructors tend to feel that a stressful learning environment will "weed out" the students who will not be effective in these professions, so this is an educational philosophy, rather than a personal issue. I hope this helps, and wish you all the best as you pursue your goal...

It is understandable that you are feeling this way. The first year is always the hardest. I try to break up things so I have some "me" time. If you know that you have PTA on Tuesday make sure that on Monday night you do something for you. Reading or watching a movie or even a exercise class works for me. I also try to finish as much as possible during the day so that when I get home I have time for other things. Hopefully you have a mentor at school (a teacher that has been there for awhile). I found that talking things out and asking for advice really helps. If you don't have one find one. Also, steer clear of all the negative teachers. There are so many that spend all their time complaining and having a negative attitude about the school and the kids. Don't listen to them because their attitudes will bring you down. Just hang in there and good luck!

Seems like you might want to start looking for another school where the teaching is a little more gentle and supportive. Remember, you are paying for this and if it's not working for you, you may have to look for some place that will. Good luck

Niece (nurse) of mine had similar experience. The solution then was that, we had to change her school. Your life is more precious.
