You will only feel them if they are enlarged or swollen. If they are, then you will feel them. That is what doctor's are checking when the feel your neck.
Here are where they are:
Head and neck
Arms
Armpits
Groin
Back of knees

Antibiotics such as penicillin, cephalexin, or amoxicillin are used to treat strep throat. Antibiotics work only against bacterial infections such as strep throat. They will not help sore throats caused by allergies or viral infections such as colds. So if your doctor gave you anything like an antibiotic it probably didn't work, am I right? Check out other places that have lymph nodes; the neck, armpits, etc. If there is other places that are swollen it could be that you have a viral infection (like mononucleosis) which can spread from saliva; eg. kissing, sharing a cup. My advice is that you would want to go back to the hospital, but go to a different doctor- if he wasn't able to test for mono vs. strep before giving you a prescription then there is something very wrong there. A mono test will need a little bit of blood (usually just from the finger, unless they want to do a cbc too) a strep test has a nurse swab your throat, you should have results within your visit, if not, demand them.

The nodes are in your neck and arm pits .the two in the neck are mid way from your ears to the chin and just below your jaw. The arm one are in the arm pits. There might be a pair in your lower half to but I am not sure how to find them.
