I have had a relationship that has turned sour. I have lost contact from some friends, which has left me with nothing to do. I was thinking of getting an extra job to fill the emptiness. I live in an area that is tough for social situations. What advice do you have?

Yeah, that's right get a job and make yourself busy and make more friends.. life doesn't end when your love with a certain person ends.. move on.. for sure there's someone better than your previous relationship..

Any interests in outdoor recreation, perhaps writing a journal, writing poetry, buy a pet and take it for walks, clean your vehicle, learn basic mechanical skills, use a charcoal grill, do yardwork, get into landscaping, be a big brother or big sister, spend more time with your family, volunter for a charity, start a program at the gym........good luck

Be active on net, chat, communities, blogs. It is a good pastime. You may join a gym and hook up on TV. But my best pastime is visiting an orphanage nearby and play with kids. Is that possible for you? You can try being a home tutor or volunteer as a hospital clown.

seriously I had this issue when my ex left me but I found it useful to keep up eith my old hobbies and even taking another one up, that being helping people out on this because I realised and I still do realise that people had/have it worse than me, so if keep up your hobbies then you should be able to get through this without to many dificlties, trust me mate and now the only person that i love is my girlfriend Laura

Try and get those friends back that you lost. Make plans and do stuff like shopping and going to the beach etc

work work work.
i usually work myself up in my arts stuff...painting, writing.
i used to go out a lot too, but that made me even more miserable as i saw all the beautiful people connecting. and i drank too much wich made me feel worse the next day.
just do whatever you feel like doing - join a sport club, take painting lessons, do some yoga (aways a great place to meet new girls btw)
