My brother and his 8 year old daughter will be taking a short commercial flight in-state (not crossing any borders to another state or country). What identification will his daughter need to board the plane? Will she need a birth certificate? My brother will have his driver's license. Thanks for any help!

They won't need anything as long as they are staying in the country. It might be a good idea for your brother to have a Insurance medical card (vacination cards work well) with her name and SS# on it. It is what I carry when my kids and I travel.

It would be a good idea, to have an original birth certificate...
Simply because, she probably does not have another form of ID.
She can also go to the local license bureau, & get a picture ID,
identification card.

When my kids traveled, that's what they had....

Don't quote me, but I believe that is good enough. It's always best to double-check with the airline, as requirements sometimes change.
