Gastrointestinal upset which may lead to ulcer and can induce bleeding is the risk highly imposed by taking non-steroidal anti inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen.
Ibuprofen is one of the drugs which decreases its potency past its expiry date. A year past the expiratory, any medication is supposed to be discarded. At 1 year and 8 months past its expiry, we cannot exactly predict the percentage of the potency lost but due to the amount of pills you had taken, probably you had more than what is supposed to be. If you had previous ulcers or if you took the pills without food then it had remarkably irritated your stomach causing such pains. Better to see a doctor for proper advice.♥

Did you take all 14 pills at once or over a 24 hour period? Hopefully you have used the recommended dosing. Also Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and should be taken with food and may cause stomach upset. If you are worried that this is more than a side effect then you should seek medical attention immediately.

First of all, how many are you taking at one time? Chances are the pills are still okay to take even though it's past the exp. date, but if you're having stomach pain when you take them {like I do}, it probably means they are irritating the lining of your stomach because you are hypersensitive to them, and should stop taking them. Some folks just can't take ibuprofen due to the stomach pain/irritation they can cause. You should try switching to tylenol unless you are sensitive to that as well. Why are you taking so many?

i'm seriously hoping you are joking. regardles sif the medication is exp. or not you still only need to take the recommende dosage. but you shoudl really throw it out because its not going to work the way it should. but if you are serious you need to get to the er so they can have you puke up the 14 pills you took.

I would not suggest taking expired anything. It all has a shelf life and the drug is more than likely not as potent. See your doctor or call your pharmacist.
