Jinns and human beings are 2 completely different things! Jinns were created from fire and Adam was created from clay.
The prophets were of course the chosen ones amongst men. Someone once asked me, 'Why didn't Allah send angels as prophets to guide humans?'. Humans were chosen as prophets so that they can be good examples for other humans... Imagine if an angel was a prophet, I think people would make excuses and say 'Oh he is an angel.. of course he can follow Islam's rules, we are just human beings.'

No such statement in quran or hadith say so.
Are you more wise than Prophet Muhammad s.a.w.?
Jinn is creature made by Allah who cant been by your eye and feel by your hand. how can that creature give a message to you? By whisper?
A prophets must from fitrah of human being who can be approached by humans and jinns.
Dont forget that Allah created Adam a.s as a khalifah (ruler) in this world and ordered all angel and jinns to praise Adam after the his creation from soil and dirt been completed.

Thanks for your question, here is the explanation
O assembly of jinn and mankind, did not messengers come to you from among you, that is, from among both of your number - which holds true in the case of mankind [since messengers came from among them], or [by 'messengers' if the jinn are meant] those messengers among the jinn who are their warners, the ones who listen to the speech of the [human] messengers and convey it to their kind - to recount to you My signs and to warn you of the encounter of this Day of yours?' They shall say, 'We bear witness against ourselves', that [all] this was conveyed to us. God, exalted be He, says: And the life of this world deluded them, and so they did not believe. And they bear witness against themselves that they were disbelievers

NO NO NO , from tafsir(explanation) of ibn kather , that the prophets ARE only humans , whlies from the "Jinn" are someone who act as warners ,
and he gave the proof that : god said in the quran :
And (remember) when We sent towards you (Muhammad SAW) Nafran (three to ten persons) of the jinns, (quietly) listening to the Qur'ân, when they stood in the presence thereof, they said: "Listen in silence!" And when it was finished, they returned to their people, as warners. (al-ahqaf 46:29)
and there are other verses he used to prove that.

if there were Prophets from the Jinns, then they would have been sent only to the Jinns themselves and not human beings.

No, in Islam ,all phrophets are selected among human beings. There are many reasons why phrophets are from human being.
For example, it is for an example to other human that our phrophets are human being just like us and yet they can be a good, wise, humble human. That means it is possible for us to become one.
