Nobody would win. Too many nukes.

Mutually Assured Destruction.

First thing is that we have to think about some factors before we jump into "who would win".
The Russians dont want a fight with the US, but if it came down to it, they would hold nothing back.
The US has advantages in several areas, including present day combat experience- which can determine the outcome of any battle.
A conventional war with them would take time to be sure, but the fact is that the Russians(when compared to the US's capabilities), wouldn't really be able to leave their homeland effectively enough to make any kind of attack on US soil. Some of course would get here, and do some damage, but those poor folks would have to face even gang's and thugs shooting at them.
But the US has a huge Navy, which honestly, is enough to do enough damage from sea and air, to reduce targets to rubble.
Next, our Air Force has plenty to deliver and could punch holes into Russias infrastructure. Its the overwhelming masses of material that would evenually break them in that sense. Just like WW2- everyone knew that the US could just keep building and building while her enemies watched and could do nothing.
When and where soldiers and marines would come into it, i dunno, but it would only be after there was a safe enough place to send them into. Beyond that, we prolly wouldnt utilize ground forces much.
Its my belief that if the US engaged Russia, Russia would fall in 6 months to a year.
Now, nuclear warfare, omg, I believe someone said already what that would amount to- Mutually Assured Destruction.

Nuke war? Nobody would win. World looses big radioactive dustball. Maybe some bugs and whatever lives on the bottom on the deepest ocean. Tom Clancey wrote a good book about it. Red Storm Rising. Its a good read and along the lines of your question. There are a few books out about WWIII.

I agree with them.No one will win.Certain countries will favour America, certain will favour Russia. Eventually, all countries will join the war.

Well Im sure our government has gone through every hypothetical scenario for ground invasions of every major threat to American interests worldwide. I really dont see the benefit in carrying out a campaign like that. You dont always need to take aggressive armed action against your enemies to defeat them.

america *uck yeah, duh america has better weapons and every thing and if it was not a "limeted war" that would only make it extremely obvious. were have more nukes and 2 stage H-bombs strapped to missle ready to launch at any time with marine force armmed with a complex dispach systems to invade overnight and the best tanks (M1a2 better than T-90s) capable of surviving nuclear explosions, and lots and lots and lots of billion dollar planes and high trained pilots and the navy seals

Its an easy question

China, cause it would destroy us both. Also, this war was already fought and won by the USA, it was called the COld War and Russia/Soviet Union couldn't hang with us real Super Powers.

No one will win, there are no winners in war. Especially nuclear war fare. No one will survive it no matter how many bunkers there are.
