My husband and I were apart for 1 year just 6 months after we married and we just celebrated our 21st anniversary. It does take a lot of hard work to keep it going though.

Yes it could work...BUT.... we're all humans and humans need to physically feel their lover or at least that's a big part of a relationship. I think you'd need to be seeing each other every month at least to have a good shot at it.
