"Ye must come as a little child" etc. God admires the "blind faith" of children.

But I can't be the only person who is a little bothered. What *human* parent wants their offspring to remain "childlike" forever. A person who remains childlike in outlook is "mentally handicapped" and it isn't a state that parents wish for their children. Why does god?

Dare I ask, if YOU were god, would you want your offspring to be eternally childlike, or would you want them to grow up enough to think and question?

Because Jesus was genuinely humble, little children were not afraid of him. Rather, they felt drawn to him. He for his part showed fondness for children and gave attention to them. (Mark 10:13-16) What was it about children that Jesus found so appealing? Certainly, they had desirable qualities that some of his adult disciples did not always display. It is a simple fact that little children view adults as being superior. You can see this by the many questions they ask. Yes, compared with many adults, children are more teachable and not as prone to pride. On one occasion, Jesus singled out a young child and said to His followers: “Unless you turn around and become as young children, you will by no means enter into the kingdom of the heavens.” He continued: “Whoever will humble himself like this young child is the one that is the greatest in the kingdom of the heavens.” (Matthew 18:3, 4) Jesus stated the rule: “Everyone that exalts himself will be humbled and he that humbles himself will be exalted.”—Luke 14:11; 18:14; Matthew 23:12.

10 That truth raises important questions. Our prospect of gaining everlasting life is in part dependent on our cultivating genuine humility, but why do Christians sometimes find it difficult to be humble? Why is it a challenge for us to swallow our pride, so to speak, and react to trials with humility? And what will help us to succeed in cultivating genuine humility?—James 4:6, 10.

To be chidlike to believe in God's word for what it says. We should not try to analyse or figure out God. Just believe the Word with simple faith. Depend on the Holy Spirit to enlighten you on the Word as it was He who inspired men to write the scriptures. The natural mind cannot understand the things of God, they are spiritually discerned. God wants us to be mature and to be His sons who are led by the Spirit of God. God wants to give us the mind of Christ with infinite wisdom!

The meaning is this: That we come to God in complete faith, belief, trusting God completely.

Unbelievers will not understand unless they open their heart, asking God to take control of their lives.

I would like them to be child like in some aspects....

But blind faith would not be one of them.

An infantly open mind and various playfull aspects of a child on the other hand would be nice....and ofcrose the fact children like everyone!
