I was once asked by a male friend to give him the description of whom I would like to marry. I gave him a description of the man of my dreams which is the exact opposite of my male friend, yet he still proposed to me. Do you think he didn't get the message the first time? Or how does the mind of an average man think when you give him that kind of opposite description?

99.9999% of the people do not marry the person of their dreams. There is what you want, and then there is what you settle for. Is your dream lover real? Do you have realistic expectations?

My dream lover would be a super model that was very rich, mid twenties and would have sex with me every time I wanted. I'm 53 overweight and have a boring job. I would be much happier with someone less high maintenance, a little older and more down to earth... If you told him that you would only consider him as an option if he was the last man on earth, he could say, I still have a chance.

If you tell him your dream lover was one that shares your own dream and he doesn't fit the bill, he might get the message.

If some girl says to me that her dream man is somebody older than myself, then I figure I'll be good enough in another couple of years when I'm older. :-P

Plus, if this friend of yours is a practical person like myself, he probably figures "Dream Man" means an impractical fantasy that will never be achieved anyways.

Furthermore, he probably figures older is not so much an opposite description since age is always changing, and when you think older vs. younger, somebody else thinks of older vs. younger as something different that you. It is very subjective.

hmmm..He's in love. Give the dude kudos for trying! (Ps. My best friend did the same. I wasnt at all attracted or interested. But gave the relationship a try anyway cos i care about him, and he was perfect on paper - but that was all. no attraction. After a couple of months i broke up with him, couldnt do it anymore. Those were the worst two days of my life. We've now been together for three years, and i've never been more in love!! He is my soulmate after all. You never know what u got till its gone)

I can tell you that he already had his sights set upon you, and the answer to his question was unimportant. If you described your ideal mate as looking like him, he'd be validated. Since you said the opposite, he brushed it off and went forward anyway. When a guy is determined, only a swift blow to the head (facetiously) will get the message through.

He hears what he wants to hear. He probably thinks that he fits your description almost perfectly... Never underestimate the power of denial.

Opposites attract...women do not always say exactly what they mean to the contrary...love can be a forever guessing game...

I thought it was what women do; to take a man and make him into what they want. Seems that's all i get anyway.
