If your prayer is just words, I feel deeply sorry for the shallowness of your faith.
The importance of prayer is not the words but the heart behind the words. If a person praying the rosary is just sitting there muttering over and over, then no, they're not praying. They're reciting.
The heart of the rosary is to meditate and focus on the fifteen mysteries of the rosary, the words are meant only to focus the mind on those mysteries. If you aren't focused on those mysteries, you aren't really doing the rosary.

It's the same prayer over and over, do you think God is listening when you pray it? And do you consider the Hail Mary or Apostle's Creed a prayer? Aren't those prayers just took their concept from the bible?
My sister,
Rosery, is a full prayer, because it consist the prayer like our father, hail mary,
Apostle's Creed etc., Now be faithfull with god, Mother Mery given this pryer in 20th century also ( Fatima Apprication ) Rosery is beautiful prayer to midetiate on each mistry of faith, midetiate on Jesus.
Thanks!

At first the Hail Mary seems to be a lovely honoring of the woman G-d chose to give us Jesus yet on listening to it closely we hear 'Mother of G-d' this is against my logic,in so far as to whether G-d hears redundancy Iam of the opinion perhaps all prayers are heard however Jesus gave us the simplistic direct approach, and said this is the way to pray.
Using the Rosary and other engraved images is also against my way of believing.

He hears you, but ill bet He gets bored. He doesnt want robots, He wants a relationship with His people. Hail Mary is not a prayer to God. its a worship prayer to the dead. coz Mary is dead. i feel sorry for her. she must be so embarrassed with all these people worshipping her, when God Himself says many times in His word that we are only to pray to the Father in Jesus name. She was awesome, but now she is in heaven and she cant hear you. so those prayers are a waste of time.
but anything prayed to the Father in Jesus name, that is a prayer. sometimes its nice to pray something like the "Our Father whom art in heaven"... coz u feel thats the thing to pray at the time. but repeating the same prayer day after day or week after week, is so boring and legalistic and religious and traditional.... and God says in His word that "the traditions of man make My word to no effect" basically, they are empty prayers. God hears them, but they are empty. God wants us to approach Him like a friend would. we are His children. How would we like it if our son or daughter said the same thing to us every single day when they got home from school. imagine it!!
"Hello mother, hello Father! i love you, thankyou for dinner, it was good, please feed me tomorrow, i will obey you every day. goodnight"
and then they toddle off to there bedrooms and you dont hear a peep from them until they repeat that to you the next evening... ugh... how awful!
Be real with God. He is real with you. He loves you and wants a relationship with you, not just a ritual.
God bless you on your journey :-)

Yes, he hears you and is probably annoyed. Scripted repetitive prayer is not what God wants. He wants to hear what you have to say. It's in the Bible, though I don't remember where.

I disagree with a lot of Catholic tradition. I pray to God, not Mary or any apostle.
But, If you are praying to God from your heart, He will hear you.

Why do you need the rosary?.....
You have Christ.... he is all you need....
You don't need anything coming between you and him....
Just open your heart and speak.....
He hears you... He does!!!...... You'd be surprised....
There is a word mentioned in Scripture which states: "Do not pray like the heathen do".... They think they will be heared for their repetitions"....... (matt 6:6-7)

Well, first I should say that I am an atheist, and as an atheist, I strongly believe that ALL religions are based on a fear of the unknown and trying to make sense of it all by believing lies told to you by the people that preach it. Do yourself a favor and drop your religion. Free your mind. It will do you good. You have your whole life ahead of you. Don't waste it by being what you THINK some fake god wants you to be. Have fun. :)
