just take a deep breath and exhale and try to calm yourself down...wipe the tears from your eyes and try to keep pleasant thoughts...you can be happy if you let yourself...I don't know about your emotional state of mind but try not to let life get you down hon...there's too much to live for...good luck and good life...

If you are severely depressed, please call your healthcare provider and ask to have your appointment moved up. Meanwhile:
1. If you are a religious person, pray a lot, and ask others to pray for/with you. I will say a prayer for you when I finish typing, to start you off. :-)
2. Try to keep busy, so you have less time to focus on your depression. (hard advice to follow, but it will help)
3. Be with other people as much as possible.
4. Play music to calm yourself. Anything you like will help. Also, try "new-age" type music, and do deep breathing exercises to help yourself calm down a little.
5. Eat a balanced diet and take vitamins to help keep your body in shape while you are fighting the depression.
6. Exercise. Walking is fine. It will give you something to focus on, so you are crying less, and help you sleep.
Most important: know that depression can be overcome! There are many effective medications to help you with the chemical imbalance that causes depression. Have hope, and know that there is light at the end of this dark tunnel. You WILL get better.

Oh, sweetheart, please don't cry. You know, you're not alone, honestly crying is like a cleansing, washing away sadness from the inside out. I don't know you, or why you are crying, but you're NOT alone, I've been suffering from depression all my life, I was a child of domestic violence, I understand pain. Sometimes it can be good to get those tears out, but know that whoever you are, you're a wonderful person. I don't know if you have any beliefs, but I've found it's comforting to "talk" to, (or pray) for some guideance and comfort, when you're have no one else to talk to. If you have someone to talk to right now, maybe you should. But let me tell you, life can be very sad. Try and write down what you're feeling, and why. Write down ALL the positive things you can think of about yourself, you can also draw how you're feeling on the inside...anything to get those emotions out. Be strong, sweetpea, life is full of ups and downs,we all go through them. Remember these sh*t obstacles that are thrown at us, only make us stronger.

I get it bad sometimes too...and then i think i have to get through this and i start with the very beginning of my day. I make myself get up and shower put a little make up on and dress including my shoes( you might think shoes is a pretty dumb idea but dont knock it till you try it it gives motivation to start the day)Then i start doing things if you cant think of things make a list of daily stuff you can do and the night before do a seperate list of add on stuff. And another little secret i can let you in on is help someone less fortunate than you i can garantee there are such people wether it might be going to your local nursing home and spending time with the elderly that dont have family. And they have fantastic knowledge and stories to tell. After you have done all this each night when you go to bed and recount what you have done for the day and smile because you would have contributed to the world and someone elses day.

i dont know if i have severe depression but i do suffer from it and what has really helped me stop crying is zoloft, but there are alternatives, you could talk to a friend or relative that sometimes helps. But when I was really down I just tried to think of a time when I was really happy and think about that and take some deep breaths.

Don't stop crying until you can get someone to help you. The tears change the chemistry so the pain of depression is less. All you need is one new friend to guide you . There is a way out Hold on.

Music.

Start listening to some upbeat music. I recommend chillout house, hip hop, R&B, jazz, classical and Rod Stewart.

Sing along to those songs.

Yes...as loud as you can without disturbing the people around you. Feel how the voice of Rod Stewart lifts you up to the sky. Or you may substitute mr Rod with your personal choice.

Think of something funny. The key is to replace one feeling with another. In this case, it is replacing depression with laughter. Also, to cure your depression, think of all of the things that you love about yourself, think of all of the people that love you, think of how many great things you have achieved in your life. I wish I could give you a big hug to make you feel better. :)

Keep busy. Get a new hobby. Make some new friends.... just get out of the house and maybe get into a support group.
