the relationship with you. We have been seeing each other for over 2 years on and off and times have not been the best lately. We have been arguing and trying to figure out how we can both be happy and satisfied. He thinks that we should "hang out" and see how things go. I think that we need to be together and work things out. He can't say that he wants to end our relationship, but he can't say that he wants to continue it either. After 2 years, I can't be just friends and "hang out" in order to see where we are going. I need to know that he is committed to me and our relationship. I know that I need to give up, b'c if he is willing to let me go b'c I am not willing to just "hang out" and date then he is probably not the man for me. But, he is a good man and it is so hard for me to stop thinking about him and what "could" be.

Most likely a break means that he is looking around and wants to play the field a little bit before he is tied down again. This is the worst thing for a relationship. If you guys can't work things out together, then what else is there to talk about? Taking a break doesn't ever solve anything. You can't run away from your problems. Either you are willing to work on a long term relationship or not, there is no in-between, and it takes a lot of hard work. If he isn't adult enough to work out his problems with you, I'd say you are better off moving on, there is always someone else out there who you can feel the same for in time. Good luck and take care of yourself.

He's not serious enough about it. I would say dump him like a rock. You could be friends of course. Maybe he is dating another girl and doesn't want to lose you yet because the other attempt might not work out.
