you can aply a treatment for dry scalps during the time tou have braids, its alittle expensive but it works. olive oil doesn't raelly help, it makes your hair oily and it drains all the water from your sculp. there is a balace between oil and water, you over stepping the limit!

Many people mistakenly believe dandruff is caused by dry scalp, frequent shampooing or poor hygiene. These popular misconceptions can lead to ineffective, and sometimes inappropriate, treatments, and make it even harder on those who have dandruff. It is now believe dandruff is a medical condition caused by an overabundance of an organism that normally exists on everyone's scalp.
Dandruff is a minor infection of the scalp caused by an overabundance of a micro-organism called Pityrosporum ovale (P. ovale), a yeast-like fungus that is part of the normal skin flora.
It is possible that because you only wash your hair every two weeks that you have developed this problem. It is a good idea to see a doctor or start using a shampoo with ketoconazole in it.

Try using a shampoo and conditoner with tea tree oil in it. Tea tree helps rid hair of dandruff, and dry spots. And instead of a regular coditioning treatment deep condition before getting hair braided and put a leave in conditioner Infusium on hair before braiding as well to lock in moisture.

There is this natural solution that you can make. At first it may seem weird but it works. Just get an avocado and mix it with olive oil. Try to make the solution as liquid as possible. Apply this to your head everyday for 30 minutes.
