"Things Fall Apart" is a 1958 English-language novel by Nigerian author Chinua Achebe.

The book is widely read in schools throughout Africa and also widely read and studied in English-speaking countries around the world. It is one of the first African novels written in English to receive global critical acclaim.

The title of the book comes from the poem, "The Second Coming," by William Butler Yeats.

I read this in 1972. Chinua Achebe. Truely compelling no matter who you are or where you came from. How do you act when you are helpless and don't know it?
