What are some signs a shy guy gives to let you know that he's interested in you? Obviously the guy is shy so he's not trying to make any physical contacts with me. Are there any signs in the facial expressions or body language?

If he looks at you alot & tries to be close to you, or if he always tries to walk past you, even if its going out of his way.
For the most part he tries to get your attention in non-verbal, subtle ways.

Really, if he's shy he won't give you any signs. He's too afraid of being rejected. I went through the same thing at one time. I just flirted with him and he opened up. He's very open now, when we broke up it wasn't long after that he was out there flirting and getting dates. I'm proud of him actually.
