I had this riddle written down on a piece of paper I just found, but I didn't write the answer on the paper. It was from about a year ago. Has anyone heard this riddle? I was thinking the answer *could* be "friends," but I'm not sure. Has anyone heard this riddle and know for sure?

Time sounds correct, but time lasts longer than a lifetime, time is eternal. Time is not actually a convincing answer to this question. Unless of course the one who asked it is happy enough to accept this. However, there should be something you throw away that only lasts a lifetime. Example, your body maybe. but burning or to bury is not throwing away. and again, lifetime is relative, it could be a non-human lifetime, such as battery life. you could throw batteries... oh, well,..
