just got a cannon power shot SD 630 and it's great. big screen and you can video record as well. and if you take a picture horizontally and you flip the camera vertically the picture changes that same way. the quality is great and give a lot of options. got it off ebay for $350 but it came with 2 battery packs, 2 memory cards, 30 free prints, and a whole bunch of other stuff. if you get it in the stores it's the $300-350. go check it out and see if you like it!

Depends what you looking for but I would definitely go for Sony. Anything Sony. But I will buy Canon for digital SLR which will be in the 1500 range + -. Or I will wait for Sony SLR as they have just bought Konica out. Although I love my Konica 5D with it anti-shake technology. @ http://www.geocities.com/lcming/Digitalphotography

I have a Kodak EasyShare C340 and I think it is a great camera. It takes excellent pictures, it was under $200.00 dollars, has a zoom lens, and is super easy to use.
