or all un-neutured male cats destined to spray?

Not all un-neutered males will spray, but once they have started it is incredibly hard to stop them.
Females will also spray to mark territory and when under stress, as will a male. And the same goes, once in the habit nearly impossible to break them of the habit.

We get entire male strays in at the shelter and not many are sprayers.

I also have had entire toms and they didn't spray, but had a spayed female that did!

It truthfully depends on the cat and also if there are other un-neutered males around. I have a cat who is a 4 year old Javanese now neutered. He never sprayed in my home as an only male with a female Javanese. He never sprayed even when breeding with her. However, he moved to his breeders for some time who has several intact males and began spraying. He was neutered at around 2 years of age and returned to my care where he lives now with 10 other cats and does not spray.

I have 2 intact males right now, an almost 2 year old male American Curl who sometimes sprays but not often and a 1 year old domestic longhair who does not spray at all. Honestly it depends on the cat. In most cases though males do spray in fact even female cats have the ability to spray and I have seen this first hand with my curls.

I did not get my male cat fixed until he was over a year old and even after then (8 months ago) he still sprays without any other animals in the house. If you wait too long, he just will always do it. Also, my parents have 7 male and 9 female cats and had all of them fixed at an early age and none of the males have ever sprayed.

With all the cats I have (10), I have found that if you have them neutured as soon as they are old enough the less likely they will spray. However, if your cat is not the only cat in the house, he will mark his territory, everywhere. Not a whole lot you can do then.

Hi there...chances of an unaltered male cat of not spraying is a very small percentage which rarely occurs. Most un-neutered males spray when they reach sexual maturity at 5/6 months of age.

I have never (in 25 years of animal experience) heard of an un-neutered male that didn't spray.
Ever.
