I have always just dyed my whole head I tried for the first time to put streaks in it. (hair color is Dark Brown, Streaks Blonde) It looked really good . Now my roots are coming out so I tried this red color well it turned even more blond. I want red streaks not blonde streaks anymore so I wanted to re-dye over the blond that I just put in my hair with a cap today and just re dye over it before taking off the cap. Can I right after I just highlighted it?

Hello,

I would first suggest going into a salon and getting a conditioning treatment. I get my hair highlighted in a salon, and they always do this treatment after each highlighting session. It costs about $10-$15, and takes around an hour. Basically they put a bunch of different conditioners and chemicals in your hair, and it works to repair most of the damage that dying or highlighting your hair causes.

If you are worried about excessively damaging your hair, I would suggest getting this treatment done and while you are in, asking a stylist how damaged your hair currently is.

If you are worried about color and tone of your hair. I would wait about a week before putting another dye in. Make sure during that week you wash your hair a few times during that week, to ensure that all of the dye is entirely out of your hair.

Also keep in mind that when you are using at home dye kits to dye or highlight your hair OVER hair that is already colored, the results may not be the same as if you were dying hair that has not been colored at all.

Once I tried to dye my hair (at home) a dark brown color, after it had been artificially blonde for many months. The result was a dark red color, and me vowing never to dye my hair at home again.

I hope this helps, and good luck!

undesirable you! seems such as you had a disaster!! dont undertaking ive finished an identical many a time. I dont know precisely how long you need to attend, yet what i might say is that making your hair lighter is very harsh on your hair because it makes use of bleach. This makes it brittle meaning it is going to ruin extra relatively. i myself think of that in case you % to do something quickly it is going to be a delicate dye in a darker coloration because of the fact that this doesnt use bleach. sturdy success! x

You should wait 3 months before dying your hair, so that your hair can rest, otherwise it will break or become grassy.
