Depends on what you want to do with the language. Personally, I prefer Chinese because I like the characters and I'm into Asian literature. Both languages offer a lot of opportunities, history, and culture. Both are complex. Chinese is tonal, that means a word pronounced in different ways takes different meanings and people can have trouble with that. Mandarin is the People's Republic of China's choice as the Chinese language. The writing system is both pinyin or Wade-Giles (depending on which is learned), which is letters, and the characters which come in traditional and simplified. Arabic has more grammar and the writing system is elegant, and made of letters. English has several words and concepts that come straight from Arabic, so there is some familiar things in it. Something else to keep in mind would be using the language once you learn it. It helps if you have access to others who speak the language you're choosing.

Like I said, which one you choose to learn, though, depends on what you'd like to do with the language.

Chinese has such a lot of distinct dialects and characters that it could be very difficult for persons who're used to the English language. Many surveys exhibit that Chinese is practically on the very most sensible for being probably the most complex language to gain knowledge of.. However, I simply see it extra valuable in finding out Chinese because Canada has the sort of tremendous populace of Chinese persons. I could decide on Chinese over Arabic.

They are both good but tough to learn languages. Taking one or the other will benefit you in many ways. I took Arabic first and moved on to Chinese. Both wonderful experiances and have helped me a lot.

Personaly, I am learning Chinese.
But it is a personal decision, and it all depends on what you want to do with it, and the reasons why you want to learn another language.
Why not take both?

Chinese, or course.
This eastern country is BURGEONING in many ways although its government is a large bit evil and bureaucratic. However, everyone should admit that they are the future. Learn Chinese as better as you can and then teach it to your children.
