USS ROSS
FAMILY SUPPORT GROUP
Being part of the Navy family can be very stressful and even confusing sometimes, no matter how long you have been doing it. For spouses who are new to an area, new to the Navy or new to the life as the spouse of a sea-going Sailor, the challenges can be daunting. When your spouse or significant other is away at sea, home, or getting ready to leave, it often helps to have other people in the same situation to talk to, laugh with, cry with, "play" with, and share the joy (and trepidation) of homecoming with. Family Support Groups have long existed to provide this network of support and camaraderie to the family left back ashore.
The USS ROSS Family Support Group is a group of ROSS spouses and significant others that meets regularly to support the needs of Team ROSS and her families. We have a variety of events, ranging from Group meetings and Guest Speakers to social celebrations and gatherings for adults and/or children and charity projects. Membership is strictly voluntary and there are no dues. The Family Support Group is a "year 'round" group - we get together when the ship is at sea or in port so we can all get to know each other and develop that all-important network.
Your Family Support Group welcomes you to TEAM ROSS! Please feel free to call the CARELINE at (757) 445-5819 and press option 5 to hear information about the next meeting or to leave a message for the Family Support Group President. You can also email the Family Support Group President. Look forward to seeing you at our next get together!
