Here's the scenario. My friend was given a tourist visa which is valid for only six months and the expiration date would be on March 19, 2007. But her vacation leave will start on March 15. Lets say she will leave the country on that date. Do you think the consul would still allow her to enter Canada? I need straight answer please.

The thing is...when you arrive at the airport you would have to go to the consulate and they give you minimum 3 months of stay that they stamp in your passport.

Does anyone knows how can I contact the embassy or the immigration? I tried contacting this call center but its an automated one...and I hate it. I want to talk to a real person.

Here are some things I would recommend your friend do:

1) Contact Canadian consulate and explain situation and see about an extension. Do this prior to March.

2) If she doesn't get extension, whether she fails to look in to it, or isn't granted one, take with her proof of where she is staying, proof of flight out of canada, and anything else that would support her claims of planning to leave by the 19th.

good luck

It still valid, but she will be told at entry that she'll have to go by March 19. Maybe she should go to the Consulate as ask for an extension, Now!

March 19th is the time that she must exit the country. Canada is getting more stringent with tourist visas lately. So she better be quick, or try and arrange something now, so she won't run into problems.
