products. The products really don't help. Oddly what seems to be working for me is putting very very hot water packs on each pimple.Leaving the hot pack for minutes at a time only to get more hot water. It seems to bring the swelling down and also seems to bring the infection to a head then allowing it to drain. I keep appliing the hot packs for a short period of time e.g. 3 days. I am wondering if anyone knows if this is a real method used by other people?

My sister had really bad acne and went to the dermatologist. One of the things the doctor had her do - was to put hot compresses on her face. So - i think you're on to something.

If you can - go and see a dermatologist.

Have you tried Proactiv? It seems to help a lot of people who have tried most everything else.

I am in my forties and I got acne as an adult. The one thing that I did was use many acne products. It didn't do anything for my skin to help. I soon found out that I was over-drying my skin and actually causing my skin to make excess oil.

I would definitely talk to a dermatologist or other people you know about good skin care.

I also would stop doing what you are doing with the hot water. You should never pop pimples because you'll have scars. I know because in m early twenties I was over-anxious to get rid of them, and I now have to pay the price with the scars.

I also want to add that acne has nothing to do with diet. That is a myth. It's oil in your pores that becomes blocked.

Acne has a lot to do with your diet. Cut back on all greasy foods, sugar, and white flower. Continue to apply the hot water pack if that works. Stay away from any products that contain alcohol.

If you are an adult with acne then you need to see the doc to be sure you don't have some rosacea too or some other cause of your acne. The products designed for teens often don't work on adult acne so see your doc for a proper diagnosis and treatment.
