Cuz its the first place you put it, so you remember the more recent places before the place you actually left the thing (whatever it may be), so you go to those first, then you finally remember that first place you were first and it turns out to be the last place you look! wow thats confusing! haha well I answered though!

The hiding place of any particular lost object is in direct proportion to the number of places that it could be hiding and the last place is the most logical place for lost objects to materialize.

that is the best place to find it
