I don't know how you could blame high school students for being here illegally when they were brought here by their parents.
As long as they aren't receiving any affirmation action style preference, I absolutely believe they should be allowed to compete for college admission. If they go to school instead of doing some manual labor style job, they will add more to our country instead of eventually being over users of welfare programs and emergency rooms and such.

In my opinion, this kind of "phony" kindness is not only outrageously wrong, it is madly unfair.
So these universities are saying that with all the education taxes the state received over the years from the parents and the rest of the residents , they are going to let the illegal immigrant students(who's parents never paid a penny of education tax or property taxes) to compete and most likely get the financial aid and admission that other tax paying families' children may very much deserve?
I hate to sound doom and gloom, but I am afraid that this is the beginning of the end of what used to be one of the greatest systems of higher education in the world.
If they allow the illegal immigrant students to compete for admission and financial aid , then they should loosen all the barriers and requirements for all foreigners to compete for the admissions and financial aid. my question is, are they going to lower the academic standards for these illegal immigrant students too?
Just in case most of you don't know about it, any foreign student(most of them already with a high school diploma or bachelor's degree) who wants to study here in the U. S. has to provide a notorized proof of financial support stating that you or your family has the amount of money that is the same as the fee and tuition(in the case of state university, it's the amount for out-of state tuition)in the bank so that the university doesn't have to worry about the foreign student taking off-campus jobs(therefore jeopardizing the local residents' job opportunities). when my sister applied for universities in the U.S. my parents had to sell their little piece of gold in order to get enough money in the bank for the statement to qualify!!!!
ISN'T IT MUCH BETTER AND EASIER JUST TO BE AN ILLEGAL???

That's awesome. I'm a 35 year old citizen of the US and a single parent of a special needs child and I DON'T QUALIFY for financial aid. Yet someone can come here illegally and get what I should have been considered to have bought and paid for in taxes for the last 18 years? How fair is that?

No I don't agree...The leaders of the world must do something about this...and quickly...they should help this people and educate them...so they can stay in their countries, Small countries like Lampedusa and Malta are having problems with this flow of illegal immigrants...the problem how I see it is that a lot money money is wasted in weapons ...and there is still people out there....that the only chance they have is to go to another Country to work and start a new life....but things will get more complicated...so try to help them not to go out....that the first thing !

At the college here, immigrants come in and live in the international dorms and pay nothing for it or food.Plus they get FA. They work and pay NO taxes yet expect us to take care of them. Do you know how many US citizens can't afford to go to college and there is no aid for them...I wonder why. I had to have a $10,000 a year loan because I didn't get enough grants and things..then I had to work while I went to school and raised a child..I have no problem with them wanting to go to college but I think if they can't pay taxes, they don't need FA.

If they can get a good education in the States thn when they go home they can get a good job. So let them be allowed to get an education. It's not going to kill or bother anyone too see illegal aliens wanting to provide a good life for their families back home.

No, I don't think that they should be able to compete for admission. I also don't think they should be given financial aid. There are people who live here LEGALLY that need financial aid, and may not be able to get it because someone that isn't even supposed to be here is getting it.

Um, why not build schools IN Mexico? Is there any reason on god's green earth that they can't take 1 of the several billion dollars we give em each year, and put in a school? Education begins at home, so does reform, and the sooner they put their feet on the 'path of righteousness' there and start building schools for their own people, the better off they'll be. I can't believe that there's not like 10 ag colleges there, by now...
US schools for US kids, others on a case-by-case basis ONLY!
