I think just send it and you'll find out. Pretty hard to predict the outcome when we don't know the person.

If she were just a girl into whose pants I were trying to get, I would definitely stay away.
If she were a good friend of mine, I would try to convince her to get away from X, because he sounds like a jealous controlling future wife-beater.
Unless of course you're this girl is already blowing romantically involved with the IM recipient, in which case, X probably just has a keen grasp of the obvious, and her days with him are probably numbered.

Depends on how he feels. He'll probably stay in contact, but the more time drags on, the more vindictive he will feel. When she finally breaks up with her boyfriend and goes to him, if it's been long enough, he'll do an "I told you so" dance and leave her in the dirt.
