I have 2 girls ages 19 and 9 and 1 boy age 17... The major differences I have noted raising them.....
1. With boys you have to be quick at diaper changing time when a breeze of cool air hits the diaper area it goes off like a firehose out of control (not so crucial with girls)..
2. Boys have a natural tendancy to lean toward the gross I.e. on wash day check all pockets thouroughly or be prepared to fish critters of all sorts out of the washinf machine.. (I have found grasshoppers, crickets, earthworms, cockroaches, a turtle and a snake in my sons pockets)
3. Girls have a tendancy to be very dramatic a story about a scrapped knee can easily turn into a 3 part fully dramatized reinaactment mini-series often lasting longer than it take for the minor injury to heal.. Boys tend to tell you what happened and be on thier way.. Often with boys if there is not actually dripping blood/broken bones you may not hear about the injury until you see the scabs/bruises .. Don't be surprised if the boy acts shocked when you point out the injury he really truly doesnt remember where he got it alot of times....
4. Girls all go through a stage between 3-5 in which all comminucation is prefaced and suffixed with a blood curdling scream.... For instance AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mom I saw a green car AHHHHHHH!!!!!!! (I think this stage is to keep us on our toes or to cause us grey hair maybe both, no matter how you try you will never become immune to the scream which caused you to think "Omg she is being torn apart by blood thirsty rabid trolls on steroids." )
5. Girls love let me repeat LOVE make-up and will feel the NEED to try yours on... They however do not have much control and always come out looking like a make up factory exploded on thier face, body, near by objects, pets that might have wondered by, and anything else in a 5 mile radius.... Remember they think they look fantastic and just like you so try to keep your whits about you while scrapping them and everything else clean with a putty knife... Boys dont often do the make up thing but watch dads shaving cream and after shave (a bottle of aftershave on one child is worse the tear gas and a skunk attack combined)
6. When a girl asks "How does that work?" you can give a general explanination and they will return for more indepth answers.... With a boy give the general explaination then watch he will get a screwdriver and try to take the item apart to make sure you know what you are talking about...
Just remember each child is an individual regardless of gender... Each willl have his or her own special outlook on life and if you pay attention you can enjoy the marvels as they discover everything in the world as a new thing...

I have a four year old son and a two year old daughter...other than the obvious...boys seem to be a little bit more "wash and wear" than girls, who are a bit more high maintenance.
My son is laid back and my daughter is a cross between Princess Di and the Tasmanian Devil.
In my experience, my daughter is so much more curious than my son.
Boys and girls while having some differences have one thing in common.....both are wonderful....and so much fun!

i understand the form you experience - I relatively have basically sisters and quite often female cousins. when I have been given pregnant although, I knew it replaced right into a boy until eventually now i replaced into even advised. of direction i could no longer think of it, yet now i won't be in a position to think of it any opposite direction! each and every toddler is distinctive - this boy happens to be very common-going, loves autos and trains (he's two now) and loves being exterior. i understand some ladies who're very confusing, so i think of it would not make a distinction until eventually they get somewhat older. Boys are conditioned to be greater aggressive, yet i do no longer think of it should be that way. guess we will locate out!

The biggest difference is the stress level between boys and girls. Raising girls, you're worry about them having pre-marital and unprotected sex and worse still when they're only 12 or 14. Raising boys, you're worried about them getting into drugs, gangsterism, gambling etc... Anyway, raising kids is stressful whether they are boys or girls...

The biggest difference I've noticed from 30 years of working with young children is that boys have MUCH less complicated hearts than girls do. Little boys especially are very one-dimensional in their emotional responses. Girls seem to have multi-dimensional or more complicated responses. Boys need to be considered to have straightforward responses and we shouldn't read anything more into the meanings than the simplicity and innocence of those responses. And, girls need to be considered to have more depth to their decisions and emotional responses and we should not be superficial with them or neglect the parenting that may be needed in those deeper layers of complexity.

I am a mother of little boys. However I have friends with girls and we talk a lot about kids and the general consensus is that girl babies are quieter and easier to handle than boy babies.
That being said, I have one quiet boy and one wild one, and my friend who has two girls and a boy says that one of her girls is a real devil!
I think it's all down to genetics ...

Little girls are definitely drama queens. I have two nephews that are younger than my oldest daughter and my daughter turns everything into a huge soap opera. Also you will notice that your baby girl will turn to her daddy a lot more often than she will turn to you (that is if daddy is in her life, sorry but sometimes happens where daddy is not in his children's lives.) Good luck and congratulations.
