I believe in Fate and Destiny
Fate is when you have no control over what happens in the future.
Destiny is when you have control over your own future.

Fate is God's gift or blessing to you for the good you have done (i.e. reap what you sow)
Destiny is the result of the choice you make out of Fate.
I like to draw an example here : -
A man may be fated to be born poor. He has 2 choices:
1) To continue to dwell in his misfortunate fate in life and
stay poor for the rest of his life or;
2) He can use his misfortune as his motivation to work
hard & earn more money to improve his life and
his destiny will change according to the choice &
the actions that he take.

Yes I do believe in fate or destiny. In islamic teaching we should make a difference between a fate/destiny and a predestination or God's decree.I do believe the two of them as a good muslim.
.Fate/destiny can be changed by our hard efforts but predestina-
tion/God's decree can not be changed by our hard efforts. We must remind that we do not know what and how is our predesti nation.Only God knows it exactly..We must believe in God's decree because if we do not believe it we will desperate and maybe we will make a suicide that is hated by God...Our fate/destiny can be changed by our hard efforts because God spoke in the holy Qur'an that God will change our destiny/fate if we try hard to change it better.God also spoke that in every difficulties there is an easy way to overcome it.We should use our mind ,common sense ,our experience and our knowledge
to make our destiny/fates are better..We should be patiently
in making our efforts until it will be succeed.God gives us a free choice to go to a right path or to a wrong path but God has given us its life guidance for our savety in our holy book Al Qur';an.

Fate, is the weight of circumstances.
Destiny, is what you make for and of the self.
they both have practical applications, for common sense as a guide, but not the rule.

Destiny or fate refers to a predetermined course of events. It may be conceived as a predetermined future, whether in general or of an individual. It is a concept based on the belief that there is a fixed natural order to the universe.
Different concepts of destiny and fate
Destiny may be envisaged as fore-ordained by the Divine (for example, the Protestant concept of predestination) or by human will (for example, the American concept of Manifest Destiny).
A sense of destiny in its oldest human sense is in the soldier's fatalistic image of the "bullet that has your name on it" or the moment when your number "comes up," or a romance that was "meant to be." The human sense that there must be a hidden purpose in the random lottery governs the selection of Theseus to be among the youths to be sacrificed to the Minotaur. Many Greek legends and tales teach the futility of trying to outmaneuver an inexorable fate that has been correctly predicted.
Many people believe destiny is a fixed timeline of events that is inevitable and unchangeable.
Others believe that they choose their own destiny by choosing different paths throughout their life.
Destiny vs. fate
Destiny is regarded by some as fate, a fixed timeline of events that is inevitable and unchangeable, and the future knowable through means of divination. This has led to an assumption of divination as fortune-telling, though the actual practice accounts for the self-determination of individual people and an unknowable future. In divination, destiny takes on a meaning different from its common usage.
Although the words are used interchangeably, fate and destiny are distinct things. Modern usage defines fate as a power or agency that predetermines and orders the course of events. The definition of fate has it that events are ordered or "meant to be". Fate is used in regard to the finality of events as they have worked themselves out, and that same finality is projected into the future to become the inevitability of events as they will work themselves out. Fate also has a morbid association with finality in the form of "fatality". Destiny, or fate, used in the past tense is "one's lot" and includes the sum of events leading up to a currently achieved outcome (e.g. "it was her destiny to be leader", "it was his fate to be executed"). Fate is an outcome determined by an outside agency acting upon a person or entity; but with destiny the entity is participating in achieving an outcome that is directly related to itself. Participation happens wilfully.

I don't believe in predestination. We have free will and make our own choices. But I do believe God knows my destiny (He knows my future, because God isn't bound by time as we are.)

Yes I do!Fate shapes our lives by 50% of our own deeds & 50% of what has already written for us in Heaven. As you can lift your one leg but you are unable to lift the other at the same time, similarly you can do to your life what is in your reach but you cannot do with what God Himself has shaped for you.
