i think that when you leave him with grandma, give the kitty a article or blanket that has your scent on it. also bring some of his toys. dont worry he will not hate you. animals get over things easy.

Leave him something with your scent on it; a t-shirt, blankie, stuffed animal, whatever. A t-shirt would be best since it's close to your body for a long period of time and will have the strongest scent. Take a few of his toys over to Grandma's, too, so he doesn't get bored and feels a bit more at home. If he has a cat bed, send that over, as well.
And no, he won't hate you. He'll probably be glad to see you when you come back. If he acts sulky, however, just give it time. He'll get over it. Go and have fun....kitty will be fine:)

Your kitten will be fine. Leave him an item that smells like you, perhaps a piece of clothing or a blanket with your scent on it. He is crying because he is in a strange place, that is normal. Being a kitten, he will find something to play with an entertain himself and before you know it, you'll be picking him up from his "babysitters"! He's going to do just fine because he knows you love him. Have a wonderful time in disneyland!!

How sweet, I love cats and had a little kitten die on me from cat flu, very distressing.
I suggest you start by finding him a box or bed and get him used to it unless he has one already, and when you leave him, make sure that all the things he's used to, like his blanket, toys and anything else you can think of, go with him.
For a tough old expat like me, I still love small animals, good luck.

I have this same problem. I totally understand. Anyways, you should just give him a big kiss and just leave. Dont worry, he will have to get used to it. He knows that you love him. Tell your grandma to just play with him and spend a lot of time with him. Its all ok. He will get used to it

if you leave something with him that smells like you, that might help. at least it helps with dogs. leave him a sweatshirt or blanket or something of yours while you're gone.
and as for him hating you when you come back, it really differs from cat to cat. some cats will be ecstatic that you're back, and others will act like they dont like you anymore. but that's only temporary - don't worry if this happens with him, he will get over this feeling after a few hours and go back to being his normal self again.

First of all I hope your grandmother likes cats.
then place the cat in your grandmothers lap, that will make the cat know that you would not give him to just anybody, he can trust this person. Give him a kiss and tell him that you will be back for him in a few days.
Have fun on your trip.

Awww your kitty will be just fine, just leave him with a t-shirt you wore the day before so it will have your scent on it and he'll be content. Enjoy yourself and have a happy birthday ;o)
