For the last few months I feel like I have PMS all the time. That is the only way I can describe it. I have huge mood swings. I am always tired and I always have an attitude. I am going to the doctor tuesday and I am afraid he wont know what to do for me or worse, think it is all in my head. Has anyone else felt like this before? Do you have any tips to help me get the best care from my doctor??

I am 24, so I doubt it is the change of life. I used to be a very happy person. I used to be able to deal with things. I just cant anymore. I fly off the handle over stupid things that dont even matter. I cant stand myself anymore.

You are so smart to have planned to see your doctor. These can be signs of depression. This is a depression inventory you can try at home: http://mentalhelp.net/poc/view_doc.php?type=doc&id=973&cn=5

Or it could be from hormonal fluctuations. Some lab work will probably be in order. There are many possibilites.

Think about what changes and/or stressors you may be experiencing in your life. Be a honest as you can with your doctor.

the depression inventory looked really good. No matter what the answers are, you might want to run a copy of it, fill it out, and take it with you to the doctor. The best care from the doctor starts with the best information to the doctor. You could make a list of all the symptoms, when they started, and how it has effected your life (because you are tired are you in bed more but not asleep, are you late to work, losing freinds, not going out) Good luck and hopeful thoughts to you

Could you be depressed? Are you under a lot of stress lately? The doctor will probably have blood samples taken to check your blood counts (for anemia), & your thyroid levels. These conditions may cause the symptoms you are describing. Don't worry about what the doctor thinks of your situation (they have seen & heard practically everything).

Do not rely on anyone's advice except for a trained doctor. There could be many things wrong with you some could be serious and some not...But do not take anyone's answer as your diagnosis on this site..Ask your doctor. If he does not do anything for you find another doctor until tests are done and they give you a medical reason why you are like this... Good luck

You don't really say how old you are, age does contribute to the problem alot. Everybody has a down patch once in a while, im sure you will get over it soon!!

PS: if it is a medical problem a doctor is sure to fix it !

Something major has happened to you in the last few months. What is it? You need to tell the Dr. what you are experiencing. You have had something happen, tell me and will talk.....

Sounds like either pregnancy or menopause. Also get your thyroid checked.

Could be depression but it could also be your hormone levels-
Hormones can be quite wicked.
