To some Christians, mixed swimming is an occasion that can lead to sin. This question brings back a memory of a summer camp my ma sent me to. It was a Church of Christ camp and there were some very strict rules concerning the mixing of the sexes. There were two swimming pools, one for boys and one for girls. There were tall thick fences around each pool and prickly shrubs planted around the fences. In spite of the tall fences and prickly bushes, there were still holes at eye level all over them fences and no matter how closely the guards and counselors watched, someone always managed to peep the opposite gender's pool. Of course no bikinis or Speedos were allowed but that sure didn't keep curious eyes from trying to sneak a look. In my opinion, any occasion where the two sexes are together is an occasion for sin, a person just has to decide how he or she is going to conduct themselves. Then again, at my age (44) just putting on a swimsuit of any kind is a sin.

Technically speaking yes.
The only reason it's not considered a sin is because it is not specifically mentioned in the Bible. It's not specifically mentioned in the Bible because when it was written, it never would have occured to anyone that people would ever do anything so evil. That's why the Bible doesn't say "thou shalt not wear bikinis and mix with the opposite sex." lol.
Do you see the women of the Bible dressing how Christian women dress today? Even modern Christians usually have some standards for dressing descently based on their own culture, even if they make an exception for swimming. What i don't understand is that they make a big deal about being seen in their undergarments, but bikinis are ok (don't they cover the same amount or less?).
By the way, early Christian women (and some today, including nuns) practice head-covering (it is mentioned in the Bible), along with covering the body, of course.

No.
What kind of mixed gender swimming do you do where everyone is naked? THAT would probably lead to sin.
Mt 5:28
But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
It's not the swimming that leads to sin. It's a hardened, lustful heart. Men lust after women walking down the street/ on the Internet. And, vice-versa (women lusting after men). The sin is NOT people's main problem. The main problem is not having your sin washed away and your conscience cleansed by the blood sacrifice of God's son, Jesus Christ.
Heb 9:14
How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
When you make Jesus the Lord of your life, you become a new creature. You renew your mind with the Word of God and all things become pure. Mixed gender swimming is not evil. If you think it's evil, it's because you are defiled.
Tit 1:15
Unto the pure all things are pure *: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

The poster above has ignored the element and that i will assume which you're searching for an answer so i'm going to do my ultimate to make sparkling. while Adam and Eve have been created, this is concept (by skill of Christians who have self belief the genesis origins) that the DNA replaced into appropriate and faultless. this suggests that there replaced into no threat for incestuous relationships to produce problems (even on the instant the prospect of an incestuous courting producing a infant with genetic problems isn't particularly intense (that's why this is criminal in lots of Western countries for cousins to marry). because of the fact the inhabitants grew and time handed the genetics that make us up began to degenerate and it replaced into in Exodus (if i'm no longer flawed) that the regulation against incest replaced into handed onto mankind. this suggests that mutually as this is a sin to devote an incestuous courting this is a sin of result, no longer a sin of origins. As such it would not undermine the eternality of God's morality because of the fact if our Genetics wasn't undermined interior the start then it does no longer have (a extra robust probability of having) a unfavourable consequence on the subsequent technology. Logically this demands the basis that humanity began with a appropriate set of DNA that has eroded over the years. As such the belief is logical yet finally relies upon of your theory in a god.

First, Christians don't define sin. Only God does that. Second, a Christian's duty is to avoid snares of temptation. Naked swimming with the opposite sex (except one's spouse, of course) would be much like going to sleep on the railroad tracks.

First of all, I don't swim naked. lol
Swimming is not a sin. Looking lustfully at someone in a swimsuit is sinful. If you can't swim with someone of the opposite sex without lusting then don't swim with them. Anything can become sinful if you go about it the wrong way.

Everyone is naked when swimming? What kind of pool parties do you have? Christians go swimming like anyone else, usually with suits on, and with members of both sexes. There is no sin in the sport. Is football a sin now? Everyone is hot and sweaty and throwing themselves at each other!! YIKES!!
