Yes. Yes. She gets spayed in a week and a bit. But, in the meantime, somebody's pretty vocal unless she's held, and I want to go to bed tonight, so...

Why don't you make her a bed with you, they love to be close and to hear your voice.

Honestly there is really not alot that you can do to calm her down. A cat that is in heat has a ton of things going on hormonally and the only thing she will want to do right now is to call for a mate. You can try using a product called rescue remedy to calm her down. I know of many people who have used this successfully. As far as the q-tip method that has been mentioned a couple of times here yes it is gross but I must say that there is a reason why people are recommending this to you. People including cat breeders sometimes use this method to bring a cat out of heat when they do not want to breed them. The only thing that will bring a cat out of heat is time....or being bred. Using the Q-tip to simulate the cats being bred will induce her ovulation....female cats are induced ovulators and only ovulate after being bred. Once your queen ovulates her heat cycle will end.

Hang in there cats are usually only vocal for 5-7 days sometimes less sometimes more. If she is getting spayed just remember that you will never have to deal with her poor "in heat" calling ever again. Good luck with her. I am not recommending that you do the Q-tip method here I just wanted to let people realize that it is a valid method used to bring a cat out of heat.

I had the same problem, but I had the kitten's brother too, and this was chaos! I shut him in a room and he began pounding on the door (I don't know how, I was on the outside) and yowling, the female was yowling too, and they were frantically playing footsie under the door. So I took the male back to his mother. Two days later the girl-kitten was spayed. That was 2 days ago, but she's still pretty affectionate...
I've just been shutting her in the kitchen at night with the light off, and she's quiet enough until morning. I've tried letting her sleep with me, but she just wants to play with the bedclothes. (This probably has nothing to do with heat.) I'm going to try again tonight, to see whether I have to shut her in the kitchen again.

OMG! The people answering this question are disgusting! I certainly hope you do not listen to the Q Tip method. That would be like molesting your cat. That's sick! Don't you hate when you ask a question and you get a bunch of ridiculous answers? Good luck with your kitty. Take comfort in the fact that she will be spayed soon and it will end. Take care.

not much you can do to stop an animals primal instincts. find a vet who'll do it tomorrow, otherwise you're just going to have to deal with it in the meantime. congratulations for at least arranging to have it spayed which is more than a lot do.

Oh you can't control their instinct or urge
In trying so, you are exerting cruelty to it
Try imagining if you are given oral until you are all ready and wet
then the show stop short at that
How would you feel?
